Bright Sparks Report

This programme was led by the Shaping Futures core team. It consisted of a launch event, with guest speakers; five campus research challenge days across a variety of partner universities, and a final presentation evening. Over the course of these sessions, learners worked in groups to research a topic that they were interested in.

LCR Educational Disadvantage Report

Shaping Futures wants to ensure that activities delivered are informed by evidence, pulling from relevant research and every activity has a measurable outcome. This report will support Shaping Futures in this aim by considering data that has previously been used, data that is less commonly used, and to compare the Liverpool City Region’s data in a wider context.

Use Your Voice Report

This multi intervention/masterclass programme delivered six sessions face to face in schools on public speaking skills. Sessions occurred either weekly or back to back over one day. This report focuses on evaluations that occurred with March 2020 cohorts.

Phase One & Two Evaluation Report

Since being set up in 2017, the Uni Connect programme has been through two phases (January 2017 to July 2019 and August 2019 to July 2021). This report examines the work that Shaping Futures has carried out over the first two phases of the programme to meet the objective of contributing to a stronger evidence base around ‘what works’ in higher education outreach and strengthen evaluation practice across the sector.
