Creating Careers: Live with Health Education England

After a highly successful pilot year, we are pleased to announce that we will again be collaborating with the Liverpool City Region Careers Hub and Health Education England to provide young people in our region with informative, exciting webinars focused on different NHS Careers. These webinars will run across the academic year, covering career areas such as nursing, midwifery, orthoptics, radiotherapy, paramedicine, pharmacy, public health and more.

In each webinar students will hear from a range of professionals currently working in the area, about their pathway into the NHS, what their role looks like and what advice they’d give to aspiring healthcare students. They’ll also be provided with information on their options for accessing this career within the Liverpool City Region, including HE and FE pathways, apprenticeships, work experience opportunities and more.

Each student who attends a webinar will receive follow up support, including the option for 1-2-1 support and a wealth of additional resources.

The webinars will begin in October 2021, with a morning virtual launch event covering the benefits of working in the NHS, as well as Mental Health and Psychological Careers. From October 21st onwards, webinars will take place between 4.30pm and 5.30pm.

While these webinars are open to all students across the Liverpool City Region, we particularly encourage attendance by students from under-represented backgrounds in healthcare. If you’re interested in finding out more about these webinars, please contact Sarah Hanson: sarah.hanson@liverpool.ac.uk
